Lakeshore Food Club Named the 19th Annual Ludington Lake Jump Recipient

The 19th Annual Ludington Lake Jump benefiting Lakeshore Food Club will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Stearns Park Beach. Registration will open at 10:30 a.m. and the jump will take place at 11:00 a.m.

This annual event brings together over 100 brave jumpers who are willing to take the chilly challenge for charity. WMOM 102.7 FM will be broadcasting live and a warming tent is available for jumpers who also receive an official Ludington Lake Jump t-shirt in appreciation for their support.

Participants of all ages are invited to take a dip in the frigid waters of Lake Michigan. Jumpers can take the plunge on their own with a minimum pledge or, better yet, form a Lake Jump Team!

Traveling trophies and locally donated prizes will be presented to the individual, team, youth team and youth individual jumper who raises the most for this cause. Gather a group from your school, work or organization and form a team. Teams are welcome to put up a tent and hang a banner showing their support. Those who don’t want to jump can participate by pledging a cash donation on behalf of a jumper to benefit Lakeshore Food Club. The team that raises the most will be awarded the Team Challenge trophy, a locally donated prize and bragging rights for the rest of 2018.

Every minute our jumpers spend in the cold will warm the hearts of thousands throughout Mason County by providing quality, healthful food for families in need. Are you up to the challenge? To register online or for more information, visit www.lakejump.org or call the Lakeshore Food Club at (231) 480-4334. The jump is open to the public and all spectators are welcome free of charge.

Since opening its doors in October of 2017 the Lakeshore Food Club has served more than 900 Mason County households through a convenient, grocery store-style food pantry.

The Lakeshore Food Club is essentially a grocery store run on the commitment of dedicated volunteers and the generosity of its amazing donors. As they help families meet their basic needs, they rely on continuing support to keep the shelves stocked and the store staffed.
