Habitat Now Accepting Applications for its Fall Neighbor to Neighbor Revitalization Program

LUDINGTON, Michigan, August 29, 2018 - Habitat of Mason County is currently accepting applications for its fall Neighbor to Neighbor Revitalization (N2N) Program scheduled to take place October 8, 9, 10 from 9am - 4pm.

N2N is an exterior home preservation program that offers painting, carpentry, landscaping, weather stripping, siding, roofing, door/window replacement and minor exterior repairs for homeowners in need. The program helps low-income homeowners impacted by age, disability and family circumstances who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes, reclaim their homes with pride and dignity. In its third year, The program is designed to revitalize the appearance of the neighborhood, encourage connections within the community, and most importantly, help preserve affordable housing stock

"Neighbor to Neighbor is about connecting people and restoring homes through simple acts of kindness so that homeowners can once again live in a safe and decent home. This program would not be possible without volunteers, contractors and donors who are willing to go out of their way to care for those around us and greet people just beyond their doorstep." states Jamie Healy, Habitat Executive Director.

If you would like to be part of positive change in the community we call home, volunteer registration is available at www.volunteerwestmichigan.com or by contacting Habitat direct at (231) 843-7888 or emailing hfh.masoncounty@gmail.com. We are also seeking available contractors. Together, we can ensure that all of our neighbors, no matter their income level or background, can continue to stay in safe, well maintained homes.

To be considered for the program, please submit a one-page application to Habitat of Mason County (available at the Habitat ReStore, the Lakeshore Resource Network, N2N Facebook page or online at PFHF.org/n2n) by September 21, 2018.

Once a homeowners eligibility is determined and their application is accepted, Habitat for Humanity of Mason County will provide a caring group of volunteers to come alongside and assist the homeowner in completing repairs.
